Evanston, Wyoming is a city in Laramie County, Wyoming, United States. It was founded on July 24, 1868 by Latter-day Saints who came from Salt Lake City. The population of Evanston grew rapidly during the 19th century and early 20th century due to its location along the Republican River and its access to transportation and trade. The city became a center of education and industry in the late 19th century as well. In 1925, Evanston joined the Chicago metropolitan area. The first coffee shop in Evanston was opened in 1892 by Wm. Henson at 516 N State Street. By 1916, there were more than 30 coffee shops in Evanston alone. Coffee shops thrived during World War I because of wartime demand for fuel and food products; however, they also lost business after the war when people began to favor tea over coffee. In 1924, Evanston became an official suburb of Chicago and many of the companies that had been located within downtown closed their businesses or moved away as Chicago grew larger and more competitive. However, coffee continued to be popular in Evanston as residents preferred its flavor profile over other types of energy drinks or soft drinks sold in nearby towns such as Wheaton or Decatur. By 1971, there were only six cafes operational within Evanston limits – all of which served local brewed coffee rather than chains like Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts which offered pre-packaged drinks with high caffeine levels

Evanston, Wyoming is a city in Laramie County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 30,452 at the 2010 census. Evanston is the largest city in northeast Wyoming and one of the most populous cities in the Great Plains region of North America. It is also home to Northwestern University and other higher education institutions. The first Europeans to visit Evanston were three men from Norway who mapped out what would become Laramie County on August 12, 1876. The two groups that followed—the Ute Indians and white prospectors led by John Jarratt—were not initially content with this meager land offer and fought for more territory. By 1881, much of present-day Laramie County had been surveyed and platted as part of what would become Evanston Township (now Laramie). On July 20, 1886, Evanston was incorporated as a town under the name of "Norfolk." In 1906 it was renamed "Evanston," after Illinois congressman George Evan (1819-1900), one of its primary benefactors during its early years. During World War I (1914-1918), Evanston played an important role in supporting American war efforts through its production of munitions; over 100 businesses joined together to form The Western Ammunition Company Ltd., which manufactured thousands of rounds per day for use by American troops across Europe. The company closed operations after the war but left a lasting legacy on nearby streets such as Douglas Road and Northwestern Avenue still bearing their trademark blueprints from that era. In 1949–1950, when Laramie County began offering voting rights to townships within its borders as part of efforts to promote responsible government within county boundaries, Evanston voted 3-1 in favor; since then it has consistently voiced support for local governance regardless of party affiliation or ideology. Today's downtown core remains one of the most vibrant large communities in Northeast Wyoming; businesses include banks (5 including Northwest National Bank), restaurants (including Red Robin/angler Terrace steak house), theaters (including Regal Cinemas) and art galleries dotting arterial streets near both Northwestern University's McCormick Place campus and downtown Denver's Broadway district

Evanston, Wyoming is a city in Sheridan County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 6,898 at the 2010 census. Evanston was founded in 1868 by James W. Finch and John A. McDonnell as a settlement on the Laramie River near what is now North Park Avenue. It became an incorporated town in 1899 and became a city in 1959. The name of the original founders comes from English explorer Edward Evans' journal entry of 1824 which called the area "Evanston." The first post office in Evanston was established on December 24, 1868, by James W. Finch and John A. McDonnell with the name "Finch's Ferry". On November 5th of that year, it changed its name to "Evanston" after Illinois Congressman Evan Spencer who had been elected to Congress during that year's presidential election as part of the Whig Party coalition government led by Abraham Lincoln. Evanston grew rapidly due to its proximity to Laramie City and Railroad services which made it an attractive location for businesses and farmers alike. In 1899, Evanston became an incorporated town when all other towns within Sheridan County were so designated. By 1958, the population had reached 7,000 making it one of Sheridan County's fastest growing cities during that time period. Thanks to its location on Laramie River between North Park Avenue and Center Street - home of many cultural attractions such as Northwestern University - Evanston quickly became known as a center for learning about western culture and history Additionally, its rich architecture (most notably Stickley Hall) contributed significantly to its image as one of America's great cities during this period Today, much like many small American towns before it - Evanston remains a vibrant community full of people passionate about their hometowns and their shared history
